Great Steps for Safety
Larger businesses or small, higher risk companies need more support and we can offer a range of services to help them manage their health and safety obligations.
Policies and procedures
Stepping Stones for Business can provide a simple or comprehensive safety policy and procedures manual, written around your business. We don’t believe in the principle of one-size fits all. That’s what makes us different.
Audits and inspections
Audits and inspections provide the benchmark for improvement. We provide reports that tell you what’s right, what’s wrong and guidance on what to do about it.
Risk Assessments
We’ll mentor you so you can do your own risk assessments, or we will do them for you. Whether it’s a workstation assessment, special site assessment, COSHH or Fire, we have the experience to help you to identify the hazards and come up with solutions to put it right.
Ergonomic Equipment
With years of experience in ergonomic solutions, we can provide the right equipment quickly and at competitive prices.
Method Statements and Permits-to-Work
Some businesses need help with site visits, method statements and permits-to-work. We have the resources to make sure that we are with you when you need extra help.
Training
All companies are required to provide appropriate training. We offer both in-house and public courses. Whether you need General Awareness Training, Manual Handling Training, First Aid Training or IOSH Managing Safely, we’ve got it covered.
Accident Investigation
After a serious accident it’s important to carry out an investigation and implement changes to make sure it doesn’t happen again. We can do that for you, or guide you through the process. After a serious accident, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) or Environmental Health Inspector may visit you. We can be there too, to help you and provide moral support.
Specialist Advice and Expert Witness
We have specialist advisors in PAT, COSHH, Fire Safety, CDM, Asbestos and more.
If an incident results in a court case, we have access to expert witnesses in a range of specialist areas.
Lone Workers
In partnership with a national personal safety company, we can offer staff who are at risk through working in remote locations, or jobs that present threatening situations, the reassurance that they can have back-up – and fast.
PAT and electrical installations
Routine inspection and testing of portable appliances (PAT) and electrical installations should form part of the routine safety management in any organisation, and can help cut insurance premiums too. We work in partnership with a number of companies to ensure cost effective and responsible PAT and electrical installation checks.
Competitive Tender Submissions
Most large contracts go out to competitive tender and require information on quality and safety management. We can help you complete your submission and provide on-going support to ensure that you continue to meet the standards required.
